May and cooking class students

Not only the food is good in Bangkok and particularly at May Kaidee's vegetarian restaurant. To find a place where you feel almost welcome and where you can relax after a day in this wonderful, but hectic city is one more reason to say thank you for the hospitality of Sommay and her staff! We've been there the third time this year and it was fantastic once again. If you're thinking about having a cooking class at her restaurant: do it, absolutely! And don't forget do use your new knowledge about the incredible Thai cuisine at home asap, it makes you feel like being back there with all the wonderful experiences during your vacation!

Jeff and I wanted to thank you for the wonderful cooking experience. We felt like part of the family as we cooked, ate, laughed, and sang. Jeff even enjoyed your putting him to work cooking for one of the customers! We are back at home now and had fun making Tom Yam Soup and Mango with Sticky Rice. It wasn't as good as our dishes prepared under your guidance, but I think we needed a dash of the sights and sounds of Thailand. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Bangkok and another excellent meal at May Kaidee's restaurant.

We discovered May Kaidee's restaurant quite by chance, and went there as often as we could during the 5 days we stayed in Bangkok. What a luck we had!!! This restaurant is a perfect fete both for the eyes and taste buds... May is a wonderful woman and a great "chef"!!! I hope her wish to "cover the world" with her restaurants will come true....Good luck May!!

My experience at May's...
Back in the Netherlands we really miss the flavors of your well prepared meals May! (it already started in the airplane were the vegetarian food was quite bad.). I especially liked the ginger fried tofu (together with a ginger tea) and the green curry, while my friend was fond of the spring rolls. I regret that we didn't have time to try all your dishes; we have only been one day in Bkk and happened to find a room in Cozy House after a day of traveling by boat and mini bus from the island of Koh Chang. We really enjoyed our meals that evening! If we ever come back in Bkk we certainly should like to try all your meals and follow the cooking lessons!

May Kaidee is a one-woman phenomenon, whose drive, and passion for food, is infectious. The first dish I tried at her restaurant was the rice soup - and I was hooked. Perhaps my favorite dish is the black sticky rice in coconut milk with mango and banana, something I'd never seen before. I still haven't figured out if this is meant to be a breakfast dish, a main course or a dessert. But that suits me, because I'll eat it round the clock. I recommend this restaurant to non-vegetarians as well.

I first ate at May Kaidee's place when I arrived in Bangkok in April 1997, and the food there is still as delicious and wonderfully fresh every time I go, though that's not as often as I would like. If you like fresh, tasty food, you will love this place - the best food in Bangkok!

May's place is awesome! Why else would I be here making her website!

Very good, healthy, tasting food in a home-family atmosphere! May is a very friendly lady!

I'll never forget my first few hours in bangkok. our first stop, at Andrew's recommendation, was May Kaidee's lovely restaurant for the best vegetarian food in Banglampu. every time i am in Bangkok i head straight for May's place for that delicious black sticky rice with coconut milk, mango, banana and sesame seeds. in the evening nothing beats the Massaman curry. My last night in Bangkok, i was sitting having a delightful conversation about thai massage with a women from holland. we were laughing hysterically because everyone in the restaurant in that moment, including the two of us, was eating that incredible Massaman with brown rice. and there is barely room to describe the spring rolls!! throughout my travels in southeast asia, I ALWAYS recommended May's restaurant to anyone i knew to be visiting Bangkok six months later, I am still in touch with Catherine and just last night I had dinner in berkeley (yellow curry) with another wonderful man, named stephen, who I met sitting across from me at May Kaidee's. Extraordinary food in a wonderful setting (a Bangkok alley), great conversation and good friends to boot. honestly can't be beat!!

I just can tell u, that u will not find a better restaurant in bkk as this such incredible place... the food and then shake r really delicious..... I'm quiet often in bkk, and every time when I spent my time there, I go every day to may..... check it out..... a faithful customer
